@neil that’s a pattern I see in various other places too. E.g. local exchange and trading groups / local currencies mimicking the fiat money system they aim to be a counterbalance to. I suspect it is because of focus on different outcomes above realising existing systems are designed and through that determine outcomes, as opposed to being a natural phenomenon like the air we breathe or the water fish swim in: how is the water today? … water?
