I experimented recently with setting up an Indieweb WordPress site as a standalone actor on the Fediverse. Thanks to the WordPress indieweb plugins, and Bridgy Fed, it’s pretty easy to do, with a few quirks.
This post is a bit of preamble as to what this means and why you might want to do it. Part 2 will go in to the details of one way to do it that I’ve played with – via Bridgy Fed.

If you’re in the UK, then Cex (https://uk.webuy.com/) is a good place to go for second-hand electronics (phones, laptops, consoles, etc) and entertainment stuff (DVDs, games).
And British Heart Foundation charity shops are pretty good for second-hand electricals (https://www.bhf.org.uk/shop/furniture-and-electrical-shops).

What’s the best federated/distributed way to get a regular feed of solarpunk pictures (like the kind of things on https://solarpunk-aesthetic.tumblr.com/)?
That stuff cheers me up no end and a regular dose of them in to some kind of inbox would be grand. Either fediverse or indieweb.
I searched https://pixelfed.social and nothing came up.

No. LABOUR made it. LABOUR made my phone, my laptop, the internet, this website, my clothing, my house, all social media, and everything else. LABOUR makes things, Capitalism doesn’t because economic systems don’t ‘make’ anything, they just determine who gets paid for making things.
